Let me be clear on this point, I am a very average dude. I am not particularly strong, fast, or athletic. I am at times fit, and at times pretty fat. I am mostly ok with that. I prefer to be fit, but life has a lot going on and I love food. A double cheeseburger is a great thing, so it Dole Whip, Sour Patch kids, Ice Cream Snicker...... ok, if I keep going down this road I am just going to talk about food I like, which I could do at length, for a long time. All that aside I believe health is super important and I love the collection of equipment and the idea of finding the perfect balance of equipment to fit all of my goals. This space is fun to review because the competition between the Rogue's, Sorinex's, Titan's and Rep's of the world is so fierce. So there is constantly innovation and one ups manship going down, and I can think of 10 more companies without even trying. The exploration and review of equipment helps keep me interested in the process of staying fit.
My Personal Fitness Goals:
I am not a powerlifter, crossfitter, strongman, Olympic lifter, jazzerciser, or running, but I do dabble in all of those things. I'm coming from a guy that 10 years ago was 300 pounds, and found out he was having a kid and just wanted to be a dad that could keep up with them. That's where it started, and while I do get on kicks for specific training, it's always fluid and mostly I just want to be healthy and pretty strong. So if you're going hard all day everyday, I might have some interesting opinions but our goals are different and I am ok with that.
Why I am doing reviews:
A few reasons. First I enjoy media production and it's been a fun challenge to create these. Second I have been entirely sucked into the world of flipping gym equipment, and during that process I have purchased, or acquired a lot of garbage that I wish I hadn't. So if I can give some advice or insight into what to or not to buy, that's fun. Third, it gives me a semi legitimate reason to spend all the time, energy, and money on this stuff, and sometimes I need to be able to justify what I am doing in the garage all the time, and why I am looking at yet another pair of uprights/bars/plates/dumbbells/bands/machines/musclelydudes to my wife.
